Setting up Email Domain Authentication

Credit Clear uses SendGrid to send emails on your behalf to your customers. This page describes the steps to set up the domain authentication so we are able to do that in a secure manner.

Understanding Domain Authentication

Domain authentication proves to email providers that:

  • You own the domain the emails are sent from
  • You have authorized Credit Clear to send emails on your behalf

This authentication:

  • Improves email deliverability
  • Reduces the chance of emails being marked as spam
  • Maintains your brand's reputation

Setup Process

1. Provide Your Domain Details

We'll need:

  • Your domain name (e.g., yourcompany.com.au)
  • Your preferred sender address (e.g., [email protected])

2. Configure DNS Records

Once you provide your domain details:

  1. Credit Clear will generate custom DNS records for your domain
  2. Your IT team will need to add these records to your domain configuration
  3. The records will look similar to this:
TYPEHOSTVALUE
CNAMEurl1234.test.com.ausendgrid.net
CNAME12345678.test.com.ausendgrid.net
CNAMEem1234.test.com.auu123456.wl113.sendgrid.net
CNAMECCR._domainkey.test.com.auCCR.domainkey.u123456.wl113.sendgrid.net
CNAMECCR2._domainkey.test.com.auCCR2.domainkey.u123456.wl113.sendgrid.net

3. Verification

  • Credit Clear will verify your DNS entries
  • Once verified, we'll complete the SendGrid configuration
  • You'll receive confirmation when the setup is complete
