Setting up DNS for Customer Portals

This page describes how to configure DNS settings and SSL certificates for Credit Clear customer portals

Overview

Credit Clear provides customizable white-labeled portals to help you serve your customers better:

Payment Portal

Our standard portal that's required to accept payments from customers

  • Helps your customers manage payments easily
  • Provides a seamless payment experience
  • Available for all clients

Claims Portal (Insurance Clients Only)

An additional portal specifically for insurance providers:

  • Handles third-party claims processing
  • Only needed if you're an insurance company
  • Requires separate domain configuration

DNS Configuration Steps

Let's walk through setting up your domain names:

  1. Choose Your Domain Name
  • For standard clients, payment portal example: payments.yourcompany.com.au

  • Additional domain for insurance clients, claims portal example: claims.yourcompany.com.au (required only if you're an insurance provider with third-party claims)

  1. Set up your CNAME Record
  • Work with your IT team to point your chosen domain to: cc-afd-prod.azurefd.net
  • This step connects your domain to our secure infrastructure
  • Here's what your DNS record would look like:
Type: CNAME
Name: payments (or claims for insurance portal)
Target: cc-afd-prod.azurefd.net
TTL: 3600 (or as recommended by your IT team)

Securing Your Portal (SSL Certificates)

Option 1: Let Us Handle Security (Recommended)

We'll take care of all certificate management, ensuring your portal stays secure:

  • Automatic certificate renewals
  • No manual maintenance required

Just ensure your domain's CAA record is either:

  • Not configured (works by default), OR

  • Set to allow DigiCert:

    CAA 0 issue digicert.com

Option 2: Using Your Own Certificates

If your organization prefers to manage certificates:

  • ✅ Use trusted SSL certificates only
  • ❌ Self-signed certificates not accepted
  • 📅 Plan renewals in advance

When setting up or renewing certificates:

  1. Prepare your PFX certificate
  2. Email it to [email protected]
  3. Share the certificate password separately (for security)
